New Site Worklist: Needs, Questions, Ideas

I believe it just called for dumping the cover image of your choosing into this location: /xf/data/thdonate_campaigns/cover/o/0/1.jpg
I don't think there are any settings related to it. If you can't figure that one, it's fine.

Okay, then this is an issue with the addon itself, the developer might not have tested it completely on mobile.

What will it be?

Unchanged. Where VB is now, Xenforo will be.

Will the old url redirect to the new one I assume?

Users still visit the site the way they do now, bgobsession.com being the main entry page, forum url, etc.

What happens is any old link redirects to the XF equivalant. For instance:

www . bgobsession . com/forumdisplay.php/2-Sons-of-Washington

would redirect to

www . bgobsession . com/forums/Sons-of-Washington.2/

Okay - that sounds good. I honestly can't even completely figure out the Google Adsense account settings. Basically, we want to set up ads ONLY for the Registered User and non-logged in folks. Premium and staff usergroups will be ad-free (I've got it set up that way in usergroup permissions). We don't have huge traffic, we are just looking to offset some site costs. Biggest thing is, we don't want them to be annoying or too obtrusive as I described above. And these are automated ads (not solicited ads) if that isn't obvious. What kind of time frame would that be to set up (is it something relative easy for you that could be done before going live (I'm anticipating sometime this week?) or would you rather do it more deliberately after we go live? We'd be okay with whatever makes the most sense for you.

It would be next week, after Xenforo is up and running live.

So Driven2 Ken, that leaves just a couple items to be done - adjusting the style selector as we described, fixing the 'Donate' button color scheme, and importing the imported blog content into the articles system.

And I'll pay you for the Ads set up when migration is done and we can work on that next week.

Style chooser done. Note this had to be hard coded in the templates. It will break if you add styles or change style names due to this.

Checked and the donate buttons are using standard template style variables. If I change it there, it will change any set of buttons using those variables.

The blogs to resources that gets done after the live site merged import. If I do it before, when I merge in threads on the live site which differ from the test site are imported back in, basically undoing my conversion to resources.

Driven2 No problem on the Donate buttons. Understand on the blog import.

On the style chooser, I must not have explained what I'm asking for very well. The bottom style changer was fine (just wanted the icon changed to a light bulb which I figured out how to do). It's in the top navbar that we want the change. I want to add JUST the light bulb icon (no text) to the top nav bar between the 'envelope' icon and the 'notifications' icon. When in BGO Classic (default) mode, I want hover-over to say 'BGO Dark'. When in BGO Dark mode, I want hover-over to say 'BGO Classic'. Ideally, a single click changes the style (but if the best we can do is bring up the style change menu, that's fine). I'd also like the light bulb to show in the top mobile navbar as well. This is how it's set up on The Hackers Paradise site.

Other than the blog import post-migration, this is really the only outstanding item (other than ads setup next week).

We're going to leave the board title alone. I shortened it and I think that serves our main goal of not having it so prominent on the Home and Forum pages.

Driven2 Just a reminder - you'd mentioned that the way you built the rotating image banner it would require not only uploading images to the rotation folder, but also I would have to had image file names to some template of some kind - but you never told me which template that was? Or were you able to set it up so only new image uploads are necessary? Let me know when you get a chance please.

I have updated first post to reflect what's left (understand these will be post-migration)
