Every season has its hills and valleys. The Saints' game was a huge surprise. Against a team we thought had Superbowl ability we not only competed, but dominated. Sure, the defense was being torn apart, but that was against Drew Brees and he does it to everyone. The Vikings... here's the surprise team of the year and their perfect... Oh no... c'mon defense stop stealing defeat from the jaws of... WAIT! I don't think anyone's going to catch him! HAIL, baby, HAIL!

Then, of course, you have games like the Steelers or the Panthers! Fire the head coach! Fire the defensive coordinator, get rid of Danny. This is a talentless bunch of bums! The entire team has only one good player.

Take a deep breath.

Hey Eagles, we know your season is on the line, but here's a haymaker! Whap! Blam! Wide-nine this! Oh, and as for those FOX clowns, you know the ones that all picked the Cowboys and tried to laugh ya out of town. Bet they thought 28-3 was funny... More, when the 'boys did make their comeback and the media world began sharpening their quills... guess which team not once, but twice imposed their will. Guess which team drilled the nearly 50 yard kick through the center of the uprights as if the game was never in doubt. Guess which team not only cleanly handled the onsides kick, but had the grace to have mercy and show pitty.

Yeah, there will still be valleys, but whoo... it's getting fun to be a fan again!

Here's the interesting thing. You want your team to peak at the right time. My Dad and I were watching the Texans/Lions game yesterday, and he said he wondered if the Texans didn't peak too early. They've played two straight games with poor defense, and against better teams, probably lose both. Too early to say for sure, of course, but an interesting idea.

The Giants always seem to go through their midseason slump, then turn it around in time for the playoffs.

The bye came at a great time for us. Say what you want about Haz, but the D has played much better the last two weeks. If we are peaking (IF, I said if), we are doing it at the right time. As others have said, Griff automatically puts us in EVERY game. We don't have a game left on the schedule that I think is an automatic loss.

I called our wr's trash just before the bye week. I've been really impressed with the unit as a whole the last 2 games. They have really done an outstanding job. I'm pleased with the defense as well....they aren't playing with enough talent but are managing to create enough turnovers and key stops to get the wins.

makes ya wonder if they were sheltering Griffin, and they finally cut these guys loose, letting them do what they do best.

Or maybe instead of sheltering him they were just showing lots of different looks. Every time Griffin sticks that ball out people have to look for Morris barreling up the middle, Griffin sprinting around the edge, or Griffin firing a bullet that can go 60, 70, or even 80 yards for a TD.

It's not only physically taxing to chase Griffin around for 4 quarters, but it's mentally taxing trying to figure out the play down after down after down.

Linebackers drop back and safeties stay over top? Run the ball
Linebackers take a step forward, and the safety goes flat footed? Throw it down the field.

If all else fails Griffin can run side line to side line looking for a hole or a WR in space.
