Anyone watch the games online through Direct TV? Is the quality good? Is it severly lagging behind real game time. It's 250 but I'll gladly pay it if it's good. I can't switch to Direct TV at because my family won't leave Dish. I must see a full season of RG3. ;)

I haven't watched it this year, only last year. I imagine it's better this year. It was free for directv customers to have on their receiver last week. I'll probably watch it this weekend since my dad has it.

It didn't lag severely behind real time any more than the radio broadcast does. The quality was good, but it's really dependent on your internet connection. I believe 720p HD requires at least a 2 Mbps connection.'

edit: btw, leaving dish was the best decision i've ever made. Dish is the cheaper product if you go with their bottom tier. Once you start going up in their packages you're paying more for less when compared to directv. so if you have their middle package (i think it's like american top 200 or something?) you're paying about the same as me, but you have to pay extra for: CSN, Versus, National Geographic, Discovery, etc. I get all those included...

but it all depends on which package you use. my boss has the lowest dish package and it's certainly cheap. but i have showtime, hbo, and the middle directv package, and to get the equivalent with Dish is extremely expensive.

plus i get AMC lol

I think it's great. Last year, at the start of the season, it was terrible. Couldnt access games at times, when you could, it would lag and freeze up. But they got so many furious complaints, they appear to have fixed all the issues. It does run a little behind the actual game, but other than that definitely worth it for me as I'd miss a lot of games without it.

I think it depends on things like where you live, and how long you've been with them. My first year of DirecTV last year was around $68 a month for basically everything but premium channels. After my contract was up for renewal, they sent me the notice, along with a letter explaining cost increases that would result in me paying $129 a month for the same channels I had been getting, and they were taking my Sunday Ticket away.

Needless to say, I switched to Dish. As of today when my bill came, I have the America's Top 250 package, which includes everything good like Discovery/NatGeo/etc. and I also have all premium channels free for a year (theres something like 27 total between all the HBO, Epix, Showtime, Starz. Cinemax, etc.) and I also get Blockbuster at home free for a year. I also have the Hopper on 3 tvs in the house, so everyone gets to watch HD, and they all have the interactive DVR with each other, and we can record more than 2 things at a time. My price? $70.99 a month. Granted, I signed up during the Summer when they ran a special, but I'm still getting way more for around half off.

Always look for the deals :D

Thanks. dish is coming out today to hopper my house. :). I'm laying in bed trying to decide if I take the NFL ticket online plunge. The closer to game time the more the balance tips.

Apparently 4 hours before kickoff was the magic number. :) Just pulled the trigger. Video looks pretty good. I did get a message for the philly/bal game that it local or non sellout games can't be viewed. That pisses me off.

I think you'll be happy with it - it is so great to be able to watch the games no matter where I am, and without Directv. I really think the NFL needs to rethink it's whole 'blackout' policy. I think the whole premise of 'blackouts' - that by not letting fans view the games on TV, it somehow 'incentivizes' them to buy tickets - is faulty logic. The two things are not linked. It's really a counter-productive policy that just angers and frustrates the NFL's customers.

Agreed. I can't see it online through direct because it is being broadcast here locally. So I guess it doesn't matter if I'm at home, but if I'm out and want to see it on my phone I can't. But the stream looks good so I'm sure I"ll get my moneys worth for the Skins game. This will be the first season in a decade where I'll be able to see every game.

I'm just glad I'm local...just during football season though. But the greatest invention since sliced bread when I am watching day games when the Skins aren't playing is NFL Redzone! Commercial free football for 7 hours!

Anyone else have trouble going from laptop to TV via hdmi? Whenever I go full screen, the feed switches to the direct TV logo. WTF?
