Desperate for Oline help and we Draft... a Linebacker.

This is reportedly one of the deepest draft classes for OT Ryan.
They still have a 2nd and two thirds...cool your jets.

Long time NFL Oline coach Paul Alexander says that Walker Little(Stanford) is a plug in starting LT. He's slid down because he opted out last season due to COVID.
Also, guys like Teven Jenkins,Dillon Radunz ,Sam Cosmi are OTs still available.

I hope the analysts are wrong.

Soft with questionable technique and footwork? Oof.

I won’t be mad at them if the team takes a RT with one of the thirds honestly

Soft? Who are those analysts?

It was the first adjective used, might have been Kiper but not sure. Surprised me because it was the first pick that the whole crew were generally not very positive about. I have no idea about most of these players but...

maybe their notes were mixed up.

Booger said the cowbums had the best first night draft

The analysts suck...

The NFL Network guys called him nasty, athletic, and extremely strong. The negative was he doesn’t get good knee bend.

I agree the analysts suck, but it’s your fault for watching BSPN.

Also, the Eagles and Cowboys did have a good first round. The Giants, not so much. But guess who else did, the Team. And that’s all I care about. We know what offseason championships look like, so as long as the Team does well, I don’t care too much what the others do because it all looks good right now.

I have no dog in the fight and was simply surprised by the reaction from the ESPN crew.

Every analyst has a bias was my point. I could watch the NFL network and crackhead Irvin would swear the cowbums are the best. Etc, rinse and repeat

I'm happy with our picks.

At the end of the day, if you are versatile, passionate about football, and have a tireless work ethic, you are going to get serious consideration from Rivera and his staff.

That seems to be the theme so far with Davis and Cosmi.

People can talk all they want about a guy's negatives. Coaching at the pro level can fix certain things, and we have some really good ones now.

The biggest negative you can have coming into this league is complacency and a lack of passion.

Under Rivera, you can bet your you know what that guys are going to come to work and take pride in what they do.

That can often be the biggest edge you need to win a championship.

Thankfully no Irvin so far. Eisen has been the most obnoxious on the network, which is surprising because he’s normally so good. He’s just trying too hard this year and is morphing into Chris Berman.

Davis and Cosmi hit the right buttons position-wise for this team. We will have to trust that both have been evaluated by the front office and project to be impact players here early on as high picks.

I had to laugh at one draftnik on Yahoo Sports that thought Washington needed to use a #1 pick on yet another wide receiver.

Some of these guys have tunnel vision towards quarterback and wide receiver now and they don't see any other positions on the field being of any immediate importance.

The truth is watching those playoff games after they slipped by Washington, Tampa Bay's DEFENSE lead them to the Super Bowl win.

And the other fact is that with McLaurin, Samuel and Humphries this offense would be best served looking to QB not WR of the two positions.

I suppose the bias extending from these guys' fantasy drafts is slipping over into the 'real' NFL draft.

That's the danger in living in virtual reality.

LB wasnt as bad as some of you seem to think and you can find solid vets at LB in Free agency. Oline at this point is the biggest hindrance for this team. young Olinemen rarely play much unless they are drafted pretty high, its rare for mid rounders to start unless you are really in trouble. on the bright side, we didnt reach for a qb

I don't agree. For a team that had an at times dominant pass rush, Washington was unexpectedly soft against the run at critical times in 2020.

Our linebackers were mediocre. And to be honest you were looking at overachievers - Cole Holcomb was a #5 pick who needs to build some strength and put on some weight. We had KPL who was a career special teamer for most of his NFL career. Jon Bostic was a part-time starter and backup in Chicago and elsewhere.

Linebacker was one position where we didn't have an identifiable 'core' player as Ron Rivera describes them.

Adding Jackson to pair with Fuller gives us quality starters at CB. Curl is a keeper at safety. Collins should be coming back healthy in 2021. The DL is the strength of the team.

After using most of our free agent dollars on offensive players we just couldn't ignore D in the draft and expect to find difference makers at LB in secondary free agency and as UDFAs.

Washington's offensive line is better than it is credited for.

True, Scherff's tenure on the team beyond 2021 is tenuous, but the fact remains for this season I think Roullier - Scherff - Ereck Flowers is a pretty good group inside. Morgan Moses is a competent RT. We now have Cosmi and Charles as younger more athletic players coming in to challenge at OT. I think the club should resign Cornelius Lucas to at least provide depth and competition.

After taking a speed WR in Round 3, I would be in favor of using that #4 pick to select another OL to continue to build depth for the offseason.

But overall looking at the Giants, Eagles (with aging and expensive starters), and Cowboys (with aging and injury prone guys like Zack Martin) I think Washington is competitive here in the East.

I was impressed with the Brown pick. Getting a guy who was rated by some as a pick in the mid-30's in the second half of the third round was excellent value. His speed and separation may get him on the field earlier rather than later here. Humphries will be pushed for that slot role.

What I like most about what Rivera and Co. have done is they have used free agency, trades and draft picks to sprinkle talent all over the roster, upgrading overall team speed which has traditionally been an achilles heel for Washington in past years.

Oh it wasn't just us who thought that, Rivera pointed that group out multiple times last season.

Where you been?
