Robert Griffin III gives Redskins a legitimacy that shouldn?t be written off - The Washington Post

As this NFL season arrives, many of the serious national odds-makers, pundits and pickers have systematically snubbed the Redskins. Those who are betting real money certainly have. A Las Vegas-affiliated Web site reports that Washington is going off as the 15th-rated favorite at 33-to-1 (3.3 percent).Hasn’t anybody ever heard of Robert Griffin III, Alfred Morris, Pierre Garcon, Fred Davis, Brian Orakpo, Ryan Kerrigan and Trent Williams? Has Mike Shanahan’s résumébeen forgotten? The NFL is (repeat after me) a quarterback league, a head coach league, a playmaker league, a pass-rusher league and a left-tackle league. The Redskins have ’em. There aren’t 14 teams better stocked at those spots, no way.

Boswell channeling his inner BGO here as we all have scratched our heads over the amount of disrespect the defending NFC East Champions have received.

Need more of this...

Yeah, just read the article too. I can understand some of the sentiment remaining from the pre Shanny/Allen regime as being hard to shake but geeze didn't somebody 'cept us actually see how this team played last year?

Granted, the 3-6 start sucked but even in those games there was the glimmer of learning curve beginning to shine through.

The team played it's ass off on the back seven and adapted very well considering the key injuries and limited resources we had. (eff Mara)

No sense in us fussing over the points of 'pundits', just let this team do it's thing and enjoy the ride.

Good job T. Boswell, nice to see.

We are absolutely the antithesis of Dallas.
No matter how good we get, the "experts" will always pick against us.
And no matter how crappy the Cowboys are, year in and year out, they are always supposed to be Super Bowl contenders the following year.

This was the Post? Wow. Bob Dylan was right.

Great read, and on the money. His line about concentrating so much on his knee while maybe forgetting how good he was as a QB is well said too.

What's ironic is that the very same type of things the Redskins used to get hated on for in the past, are the same things people around the league have praised the Eagles for the last two seasons (e.g., spending spree and hiring a flashy college coach). Funny how things work.

Let haters hate, let's just put on our hard hats, win, and make a nice opening statement on Monday.

spot on quote there... my how things have changed with this team... let the media sleep on us.. we were written off last year and look what happened. Let em' sleep then punch em in the mouth.
