Blognostications: Week 10 - Philadelphia Eagles

Well done you! Though I think your prediction that Buchanon will cover someone is taking it a little far. You had me until then.

Your line about the ladies in Dallas reminded me of something i heard this week from a Dallas fan i know. He said the worst thing about the loss to GB was the refs. Especially when they called 12 men on the field against Dallas. He said, "I didn't see any men on the field for Dallas at that point, or any other point this season.". Heheeheheh.

Anyway, back to the Iggles. Nice writeup Lanky. I'll be interested to see what defense we come up with against Vick. I say give him the underneath stuff, taking away the deep routes. Not sure he can do that.

Wish I'd given it one more edit, but I'm happy with it. I realize Buchanon covering a WR is pretty crazy, which is why it earned the "bat****" label.

Lanky, good one dude.

By the way, you're a Redskins fan so any requirement for "sanity" is very loose and only to be considered a vague guideline. :dizzy2:

Well done, and the Spaceballs reference for Banks had me freaking rollin dude. I might have been with on the Buchannon prediction if, this was a game against middle schoolers and if I smoked 3 J's and washed it down with a half bottle of Jager.

Nice writeup.

But hmmm...31-28?!! Doesn't seem likely.

First, the Redskins haven't scored 30 points all season (although I guess there's a first time for everything). Second, they lost all three games in which they managed to score more than 20 points.

If I'm predicting a Redskins victory, which seems to be obligatory for a Blognostication, I'd have gone with a low scoring game.

The next time Banks breaks one for a TD the announcer should scream "He's gone to plaid!" :)

We've left points on the table in several games though...I just have a feeling that after the bye-week, the offense is gonna come together. Maybe 31 points was a bit much....

Great write-up..

I agree with China that in order for us to beat the Fecals we need to force an ugly game. However with the regression in our offense, injury to Banks, injuries, controversy, etc. I just don't see us beating them.
Hopefully I'm wrong though.

That's sort of how I feel. I'm still holding out hope though that with the bye and a motivated McNabb, he has the breakout game we've been waiting for all year and we roll on offense.

:claps: VERY nicely done, Double L.

China, I don't find 31 points quite as unrealistic as you do. The last time we had two weeks to prepare for a team, we put 42 up on the Bills. :drummer:

OK, I know it was the Bills, who have yet to win a game this year, but we ARE at home and, unless we knock Vick out again, it will likely be a shootout which means more scoring. Just hoping we draw first blood.

Initially, I wasn't sure what game you were referring to. We played Atlanta after our bye last year, and lost. We lost to Dallas after our bye in 2008. The last time we played Buffalo in the regular season was 2007 and we lost 16-17. I see you're referring to the first game of this preseason, but we all know that the preseason doesn't mean squat. Osaka anyone? (Was that :drummer: indicative of ba-dump-bump as in a joke? If so, it went over my head).

I guess the reason I find it unrealistic is that the Redskins have scored 30 or more points only twice over the last 42 games. That's more than two and a half seasons.

But as I said in my other post above, I'm still holding out hope.

entertaining post!

I'm worn out analyzing the Skins. I just want a win!

Ok, let's get pumped up! Let's get ready for tonight's game! With the Giants losing, we have a great opportunity to climb back into the thick of things and make a lot of noise. A season sweep of a hated rival will be sweet for all and especially for Donovan.

Come on friends. Support this post and support Lanky's optimism. Let it spread to all Redskins fans and to the team. Let's make the second half of this season a memorable one as we point towards a solid finish for 2010.

Get excited! Get rowdy! Get happy! We're gonna do this thing!

Great analysis Lanky! :)

A-Men!

**** a dog killin' Michael "Thuggin" Vick!

Nothing will bury the last two weeks of media hysteria faster than the announcement of a contract extension for McNabb this afternoon, followed by an ass-whoopin of the Egirls tonight!!!

Die Eagles Die!!!!!

I think we are out-classed in this matchup. Two things lead me to believe we have a shot:

1) I've thought us outclassed in every single matchup we've faced except the Rams, and that's just because I didn't realize how much they didn't actually suck.

2) We couldn't have asked for better conditions: At home, off a bye, the Eagles coming off a big emotional win ... Being dogs at home ... I'd rather it not be a prime-time game but other than that we've got all the intangibles on our side.

Because of these two things, I can say with a straight face "you never know." And that is what gives me hope. :)

I've felt really uneasy making any predictions thus far. As I've mentioned in previous post I think the Skins are moving in the right direction. The defense is giving up a bunch of yards but doing ok on pts. allowed the turnovers are encouraging.
The offense? That one puzzles me...One would think by midseason things would have developed quite a bit. I believe that the bye week will help them get on track. I see a 10 point victory for the Skins tonight. I also believe this will be Mcnabbs best game so far this season.

A stat I forgot in my write-up is that after the last time McNabb was benched, he came back the following week with a 4-TD performance.

Also, news is that Banks is going to be a game-time decision...I kind of hope they sit him, because I'd hate to see him have a set-back; but if he is fully healthy he will make a difference in this game.
