Except that the prospects for a monumental increase in the salary cap in coming years may totally eliminate that potential issue. I almost wonder if the teams that are being uber-cautious and conservative in regards to their current cap management aren't going to be the one's regretting it down the road, not the teams that spent wildly? The reason why teams are paying QBs crazy money is because NFL revenues (setting aside the COVID season) keep going up, and up, and up. And have to believe that the salary cap is going to follow that same arc in the coming years. If it does, the crazy spending we are seeing by some teams now may not hurt them one bit.
