Adrian Peterson Released

You guys continue to talk past each other. Everyone - and I mean EVERYONE - knows AP is a beast. That he runs for almost 100 yds on any Sunday on any team is not surprising. Not even a little. It also has nothing to do with Washington moving on from him. They did it to go younger, to give players who might actually be part of a long-term future the chance to play. And they did it because they feel the other RBs fit Turner's offense better.

It doesn't have to be 'either/or'. AP can be a great RB, and moving on from him may be the best thing for both AP and Washington. It really can work out that way. After one week we have determined that a team can win without AP (Peyton Barber doesn't suck btw) and a team can lose with AP balling out. That's just the way of the NFL. The RB can make a difference, but rarely are they franchise altering.

Bottom line. He's gone. He's not coming back. Every Washington fan alive is appreciative for what he gave while in B&G and wishes him well. I'm not sure what else there is to say about it.

it has A LOT to do with what we are doing here.

36, 29, 17. that is the total of both RBs and QB. AP ran for more than all 3 combined.

AP almost had as many yards on his longest run of the day than Barber had all day. We cut a guy who was cheap and effective in order to give chances to guys who were less than mediocre against a team that was hurting and lost players during the game. with our less than stellar OL we could have used a RB who can knock someone down while gaining 10-15 yards at a time.

Yes, hes gone and never coming back. Just like my ol hound dog. Doesn't mean there isn't anything to say about it. some of the best country songs are over things lost :)

Have you ever conceded a point in your life Mike? Jesus.

Since Ron Rivera has taken a team to a Super Bowl and you haven't, I gotta go with him. Sorry.

It's human nature to debate - even in a thread where you don't want to debate

sure...I'll concede now. Sorry for debating and having a stance on something I felt passionate about. I thought that by backing it up with stats it would be cool. We'll go with what Ron has done.

Who was bashing AP?

I for one am happy to see him fitting in an offense more catered to his style.

I think New England or Arizona would have been a better fit for him. Team him up with a QB that can run and I think that offense would be deadly
