Burner's Burning Questions - Week Seven

Another week is in the books and despite a close game on Sunday night, our Redskins went down in defeat. They put up a good fight and there are many reasons why we should still be optimistic about this season. Let's get to the questions.

1. The defense is ranked last in the NFL. Any hopes of improving on the horizon?

Answer: Definitely. Individual standouts like LaRon Landry, Brian Orapko, Rocky McIntosh, London Fletcher, and over-achievers such as Lorenzo Alexander form a good nucleus. Watch for improvement from Adam Carriker, Kareem Moore, and Jeremy Jarmon. It will take a little more time to get comfortable in the 3-4, but this group is too talented to remain at the bottom.

2. Donovan McNabb is frustrating at times with his low or overthrown passes. You gave me some hope on the defense, now how about this problem?

Answer: Welcome to the world of passing from Donovan McNabb. Don't expect it to change too much. Let's be honest though. Having him as our QB is far superior to what we have had in many years.

3. We've had some serious hits in football of late. How in the world have we avoided this spotlight?

Answer: We've got to hope that the Redskins don't become the story or create one as well. Good, clean, hard-hitting football is a part of the game. Let's hope the injury bug stays away and our defense plays solidly.

4. So Albert Haynesworth is staying put. Will he finally become an integral part of this defense?

Answer: Get down on your knees and pray! Ok, just joking. Here is my take on this situation. The coaching staff has decided to keep him. It's time to put differences aside and get Big Al in the game - a lot. I have a feeling he is hungrier than ever and now is the time to help this defense to better numbers and results.

5. You predicted the Colts game (26-23, final was 27-24) and all but nailed it. Care to take a guess on the Chicago game?

Answer: I hate being right sometimes and that is one example. But here goes...
Washington 24 Chicago 20
That's all for now. See you again next week for more Qs and As.
