Burner's Burning Questions - Week Five
Week five was a bye for our beloved Redskins, but we will take one last look at the Rams game and talk about the Eagles. On to the questions.
1. Does this team lack a killer instinct or were they too confident going into the fourth quarter against the Rams?
Answer: I think it is the former. The 2011 Redskins are certainly better than the 2010 Redskins, but they have this uncanny ability to keep nearly every game a close affair. The players need to have that killer instinct and take advantage of every opportunity when it comes to potential blowouts in their favor. That did not happen against the Rams.
2. The Eagles are coming to town. What would a vicotry mean to the Redskins?
Answer: The Redskins have the chance to put some distance between themselves and the rest of the NFC East. It would all but end the Eagles 2011 campaign. This is the biggest game of the season thus far for both teams.
3. Could John Beck be the starter sometime soon?
Answer: John Beck will be the starter if Rex Grossman continues to have shaky performances and if the team has a losing streak of two or three games. No matter what happens this week, don't expect a sudden change.
4. Will the Redskins make any trades before the deadline?
Answer: It is highly unlikely.
5. Was Chris Cooley out of line with his comments about Tony Romo?
Answer: Absolutely not! A rivalry is a rivalry for many reasons. It is not a gathering to exchange pleasantries. This is football. The idea is to beat your opponent. Enough said.
