Dear Jay,
You don’t know me, at least not personally but I guess you could say you know me because I am a Redskins fan and as such, you know a lot of us. Yes, I just used your first name like we are buds, although trust me, right now we are definitely not buds. You see, I’m not buds with thieves and less you think that isn’t possible let me explain that you have taken years off my life and stolen my hope. And faith. And trust.
Stop! Don’t put this letter down just yet. I didn’t write just to berate you although that was as tempting as an unguarded pie fresh out of the oven the day before Thanksgiving. ...by Published on 09-05-17 10:04 AM Number of Views: 163
Labor Day Weekend. The traditional end of summer, never mind that many of us will have summer heat and humidity for another 6 weeks. The traditional beginning of school, never mind that some kids have nearly 4 weeks in classrooms by now. The traditional marker for the beginning of football season, never mind that the pros don’t kickoff for another week or that training camp has been going for 2 months.
Growing up I lived for this weekend from January on. There was just something missing for those 8 months and that something was Redskin football. Weekends weren’t really weekends without it.
But Labor Day Weekend felt more like part of football season than any other non-football weekend going. Suddenly there was something to look ...by Published on 06-20-17 04:15 PM Number of Views: 591
Supreme Court: Rejected Trade Marks that "disparage" Others Violates First Amendement
This was a direct ruling on the Redskins case, which is still sitting in an appeals court in Richmond, but on a very similar case. The Skins case is said to have been awaiting the high courts ruling on this case and this is likely to help the Skins out with theirs. ...by Published on 09-13-16 08:20 PM Number of Views: 232
Its just one game.
The fans of 16 teams are all saying that today after opening weekend. Half the league is clinging doggedly to the same mantra
Its just one game. Its just one game.
I am left to wonder if they are clicking their heals together hopefully and holding their dog when they say it?
But is it really just one game if you are expecting the team to compete for the playoffs. Or, perish the thought, more than that? Is it just one game if the team was at home and on national TV? Is it just one game if the coaching staff has had months in the off season to prepare a game plan and that is supposed to ...by Published on 09-13-16 11:27 AM

London Donovan.
Nearly a household name in this country despite playing a sport that most Americans dont consider a sport, he has been the biggest fish in a small pond for over a decade and for those of us who like that pond he has done more to make it bigger than anyone.
In fact, I think you could argue that he has done more to advance soccer in this country than any single athlete in the history of any sport has done. Granted, we are kind of comparing apples and oranges as the four major sports (baseball, ...by Published on 09-04-14 06:05 PM Number of Views: 283
Been a long time since this place got used Too long. I had a hell of a time cleaning the cobwebs out so I could move back in today. And dont even get me started about the dust. Ill be sneezing for weeks.
But its clean now and ready for use. Hopefully it will be regular use too.
I dont really have anything big for this first week, just a few quick hitters of varying importance.

So, Year 1 of the Gruden Era begins officially on Sunday. Good times. We hope.
Oddly, I dont think Jay is the man wearing Redskins colors under the most pressure though. That title goes to non-other than Robert Griffin III. The kid set the NFL on fire his first year and then ...by Published on 09-04-14 05:34 PM
