      Head Coach Jay Gruden

On if the team has signed a new quarterback:
"Yes, we're going to go with Mark Sanchez. We had a workout today, felt it looked pretty good, but based on his past experiences with Coach [Kevin] O'Connell and [Matt] Cavanaugh, he's won some playoff games, has got a lot of experience. I think this time of the year you need somebody that has taken some meaningful snaps and a lot of experience and Mark has done that."

On how QB Alex Smith's surgery went:
"Yeah it went well. Doctor [Robin] West did a great [job], she's a great doctor and the surgery went well. We anticipate him making a full recovery."

On if it was just a clean break or had ligament damage:
"I don’t think there was any ligament damage, no. It was a significant break of the bone."

      On the recovery ...

      Head Coach Jay Gruden

      On injuries:
"Alright, our will be [Jamison] Crowder, ankle; [Chris] Thompson, rib; [Samaje] Perine, calf. Questionable will be [Quinton] Dunbar, shin; [Dustin] Hopkins, groin; [Montae] Nicholson, illness, and [Trent] Williams, thumb."

On what has changed with T Trent Williams the last few days:
"Well, he saw a doctor and the doctor felt like he was making really good progress and it's all dependent on the cast and whether or not he can have any kind of gripping with that cast on and how that thumb feels. He did some work today and I think we'll leave it up to the doctors and Trent for Sunday."

      QB Alex Smith

On G Jonathan Cooper's performance last week:
"I think the task that was in front of him to come in on a short week, get up to speed and then go out there and execute, I thought was a tall task. It's a good D-line, definitely the strength of their defense. I though he played great. I know he had a couple flags on him. The one on the screen [play] I thought was borderline, very questionable, but I thought he played great. I thought he went out… I think it'd be easy in that situation to be tentative and hold back. I thought he didn’t blink in the huddle around him. I thought he almost relished the challenge of it and I thought ...

Thought it would be interesting to compare and contrast the remaining games the NFC East competitors have to navigate the rest of the way. For obvious reasons, not looking at the Giants.

Houston Texans Head Coach Bill O'Brien

On comparing S DJ Swearinger Sr. and his progression from his time with Houston to this season with Washington:
"I think that DJ did a really good job for us here. As you come into putting your team together on a year to year basis, you just try to make decisions in the best interest of the team. DJ made a lot of plays for us here. He's a very instinctive, tough, competitive player. He's obviously gone on to Arizona and now in Washington and I think he's a captain there and he's leading the league in interceptions, doing a great job, has got excellent ball skills, good tackler, tough, competitive ...

      Head Coach Jay Gruden

      On injuries in the game:
"Only injury of note in the game was Geron Christian, tore his MCL. He'll be out for the year and he'll need surgery."

On replacing T Geron Christian Sr.:
"I don’t know yet. We still have some other things we have to do with our roster but I think right now with Austin Howard here, I think we're okay. Hopefully Trent [Williams] will get back here in a week or two or what have you. We have three tackles in the building right now and then also have one on the practice squad so we should be okay for the time being."

      On WR Trey Quinn:
"Trey Quinn, we'll talk about Wednesday or Thursday. There's a good chance we activate him and get him rolling but we'll make sure that he has some good work on Wednesday in individual and go from there."

      · It is the first time the Redskins have held their opponent to three or fewer points since defeating the Philadelphia Eagles, 10-3, on Dec. 21, 2008. Washington has now won 10 consecutive games in which it has held its opponent to three points or less.

      · The Redskins now hold an 11-10 all-time regular season record against Tampa Bay. It is Washington's first win at Tampa Bay since defeating the Buccaneers, 24-22, on Sept. 30, 2012 on their last trip to Raymond James Stadium in regular season play.

      Head Coach Jay Gruden

      On injuries:
"Alright out will be Chris Thompson, rib; Trent Williams, thumb. Questionable will be [Jamison] Crowder, [Quinton] Dunbar and [Morgan] Moses."

      On WR Jamison Crowder:
"He did a little bit more today. He did pretty good. We'll have to see a little bit more tomorrow, see how he's feeling and go from there."

      On T Morgan Moses:
"Yeah, he did more team today and fought through it, did a good job. With all these guys that are questionable, it'll depend on how they're feeling tonight and tomorrow."

On what the team misses in Crowder's absence:
"Well, Jamison's a good player. I mean, you always miss good players. ...

      Head Coach Jay Gruden

      On injuries:
"Alright did not participate [Quinton] Dunbar, shin; [Chris] Thompson, rib; [Trent] Williams, thumb. Limited were [Jamison] Crowder, ankle; [Morgan] Moses, knee and [Jordan] Reed, back."

      On WR Jamison Crowder:
"He just did some individual today on a limited basis but it was good to see him out there in number 80 jersey."

On if Crowder will play Sunday:
"Yeah, I think we'd have to see a pretty good day tomorrow out of him – like in the team work and some red zone activity, but we'll see."

On if RB Chris Thompson will play Sunday:
"Chris Thompson? Yeah, he'll be out on Sunday. No secret there."

On how much of a challenge the Tampa Bay Buccaneers pass game will be without CB Quinton Dunbar:

      Head Coach Jay Gruden

      On injuries:
"Alrighty, did not participate [Jamison] Crowder, ankle; [Chris] Thompson, rib; [Trent] Williams, thumb; [Quinton] Dunbar, shin; [Morgan] Moses, knee. Limited were [Adrian] Peterson, shoulder; Jordan Reed, back. And then everybody else was full."

On T Morgan Moses playing Sunday:
"He worked on the side today with the trainers, so we'll see."

On if it is too early to anticipate a starting offensive lineup for Sunday:
"Yes, it is. It's quite early so we'll see. The big thing is how Morgan [Moses] does and if he can practice tomorrow gives a better indication."

      On T Geron Christian Sr.:
"Yeah, he did some good things for his first time out there, you know, kind of threw him out there in the lineup and moved Ty [Nsekhe] inside to guard. But he did some good things. He had some issues from time to time. But for his first game ever in pro football, I think he faired pretty well. Ideally, I'd like to keep Morgan [Moses] at tackle and Ty at tackle but if need be I can play Christian at right tackle and Ty at left tackle or vice versa."

On if he has hope WR ...
