On responding to the Packers’ defense and making deeper passes:
“I thought there were some good looks. You never know when the opportunities are going to present themselves, I mean, that’s what you work all week preparing for, identify them, pull the trigger and hit them when they’re there. We had some great opportunities and I thought our guys made some great plays down the field. Paul [Richardson] started us out with a heck of a catch and to finish it off with a touchdown. A lot of guys, there were a lot of short throws and long runs which are always nice as well.”

On mixing the running and passing game:
“We had a great mix going. I thought we had them on their heels in the first half. They didn’t have a very good beat on what we were doing, run and pass. It was fun. When you’re playing like that and rolling offensively. I’m glad we got the playmakers to do all that stuff, run and pass. You know unfortunately for us, I think all of us offensively in the second half there was a little bit of the shoulda, woulda, coulda and hoping we could have done it differently. There were some opportunities there too. We had some field position and weren’t able to capitalize so we still have a lot of room left for improvement.”

On production with TE Jordan Reed and TE Vernon Davis:
      “It’s ...

      On injuries:
"The only injury of note is Morgan Moses, concussion. He got evaluated for a concussion [and] stayed out of the game."

On the running game this week vs. last week:
"We had a lot of opportunities to get it done, convert on some key third downs, Alex [Smith] with his legs, some other thirds downs. We were able to stay on track and hit some nice jumps. In the fourth quarter there when we needed it the most, Adrian [Peterson] was able to make a big impact.”

      On DL Jonathan Allen:
"Yeah, Jonathan played good. You know, the whole defensive line, they continued to rush, continued to pressure Aaron [Rodgers] as best they could. They had some great rushes. They had some tough downs in there, but what I liked best ...

      Head Coach Jay Gruden

      On the injury report:
"Injury report, [Troy] Apke, hamstring, is out. [Shawn] Lauvao, calf, is out. Zach Brown, oblique, is questionable. Paul Richardson, shoulder, is questionable and Mo [Maurice] Harris, concussion, is questionable."

On if WR Maurice Harris is still in concussion protocol:
"I'm just doing what I'm told there with the trainers and we are going to find out tomorrow whether he can go or not. But, he's been cleared to practice. He's had a good week of practice and we'll find out the final word tomorrow; whatever the trainers and doctors tell me."

      On if Harris ...

      Head Coach Jay Gruden

      On injuries:
"Did not participate were [Troy] Apke; hamstring. [Shaun] Lauvao; calf. Limited, Zach Brown; oblique. Paul Richardson; shoulder. [Brandon] Scherff; knee. Trent Williams, knee and Josh Norman had an illness, missed the first part of practice, but came back and practiced the rest."

On the status of G Shawn Lauvao:
"He's still walking pretty gingerly right now, so we'll have to see what he's like tomorrow."

On the practice morale following a loss:
"Well, we'll see. I think when you're practicing, guys are practicing, trying to study what they are doing, what the game plans all about, we'll see on Sunday. I think we understand that when you are playing an Aaron Rodgers led football team, Clay Matthews, Coach [Mike] McCarthy, they are going to make some plays. How we handle some type ...

      QB Alex Smith

On finding the balance between check-downs and throwing passes downfield:
"Yeah, I mean I think every guy on the team, certainly every guy on offense went through the game and what plays could I have done differently to help us. For me, in the first half of the game is maybe when I went through that in my head. Could I have taken a shot here? You know, all week we talked about being patient. The way they play defense, be patient. Let the shots present themselves. You don't anticipate in the first half that you're going to get in the second half and still be trailing. In the second half, very apparent, I mean they were not going to let anything get over their head or get behind them. It was so ...

      Head Coach Jay Gruden

On what he feels went wrong against the Indianapolis Colts following film review:
"First half, offensively: third downs. We had four plays and a punt, messed up on a route. Next time we had six plays a punt and we dropped a pass. Next drive, we had four plays and a punt. We got a ball batted at the line of scrimmage. Then we had a third and one, we did a little toss crack play, we didn’t get a puller, so just four, five drives there in the first half, third downs were the nemesis. We convert three of those things, you keep drives going, you get your run-pass ratio where you want it and you are controlling the game than we did."

On the struggles with the run game on first down:
"We had some struggles in the run game throughout the course of the game. ...

      On injuries:
"As far as injuries are concerned, they all came back to play – Trent [Williams] and Brandon [Scherff] and Morgan [Moses]."

On why the line struggled today:
"Well, you know, hats off to [the Indianapolis Colts]. First of all, credit to Coach [Frank] Reich. Congratulate him on his first win. They came in here and outplayed us [on] both sides of the ball, special teams. Got in some tough situations, but we didn’t handle the movement you know, again in the running game more than the passing game. We couldn’t get any runs going. We had a lot of negative plays in the running game, which is unfortunate, and in the passing game, we couldn’t handle a lot ...

      On the team chemistry:
"In the first half, I think a lot of things, certainly chemistry, rhythm; I didn’t think we had any of that. I didn’t think we were great on first or second downs. We gave ourselves some tough third downs in the first half, and then we didn’t convert so it was tough. Towards the end of the second half, I thought we finally did get in a rhythm but situationally even though we did put some drives together, but we stalled out, we stalled in the red zone. I think those are the two big things looking at it. Third down, red zone, it’s one of those days when you’re looking at a ton of opportunities but we needed to be better down there."

On if Indianapolis Colts pressure or run defense was the factor in slowing down the Redskins offense:
"Yeah probably, I think they both played into it. I thought both had timely pressure by them on third downs that cost us on conversions – certainly had ...
