Burner's Burning Questions

Burners Burning Questions Week Five

Rate this Entry
After another home loss and with a 4-1 team coming to town, the prolonged losing streak at FedEx Field continues to mount. Lets get to the questions for this week.

Q1: Will Robert Griffin, III play this week?
A: Oh, he will definitely play this week. Was there any doubt? Never.

Q2: What can the team do to minimize the hits that our QB is taking?
A: First and foremost, Griffin needs to learn the art of sliding before a defender can level a hit. Second, throwing the ball away on a non-critical down is an option. Third, the coaches can use fewer running plays that call on the QBs services. Fourth, the running back and fullback needs to do a better job of protection.

Q3: Alfred Morris continues to impress. Is he a flash in the pan or the real deal?
A: After five games, it is time to recognize Morris as the real deal. His style of running fits the zone blocking scheme and making tacklers miss often should tell us that he is not just another rookie. Morris is on pace for 1,571 yards this season and that total would be a Redskins record.

Q4: Kai Forbath is the new kicker. Is he the solution to our kicking woes?
A: The statistics are in his favor. The leg strength is in his favor. The game experience is not in his favor. The only way to know is to see him in action.

Q5: Brandon Meriweather is out for at least four more weeks. Is it time to waive him with an injury settlement?
A: He needs to remain on the roster and the team has no other choice. The secondary is the weakness of this team and if he can return by the middle of this season, then you keep him on the roster.

That is all for this week. See you again next Friday.

Hail To The Redskins!
