Same As It Ever Was........

Your 2019 Draft Class As of 3/10/19

Rate this Entry

Three weeks ago the NFL released its list of 32 Compensatory Picks to be dealt out during the 2019 draft. The Redskins were awarded a total of 4 compensatory picks (the max allowed per team per year) which was one more than was expected from Over The Cap's Compensatory Pick Projection. So, today I'm going to take a look at the Redskins full compliment of draft picks, what the Redskins have done with said picks so far and what I think they may do with them when it comes to the draft on April 25-27th.

Also note that things could still change as we get closer to the draft. Arizona QB Josh Rosen is still out there and while the Cardinals have yet to officially take offers for the 2018 1st round pick, according to draft analyst Tony Pauline "Washington Redskins have openly spoken about trading for Josh Rosen, IF the quarterback becomes available."

I will make updates on any new developments that happen during the draft.
I also have some great news, I will be watching the entire draft and will be live tweeting a portion of the draft during one of the days (possibly day 2?).

As we get closer, I'm hoping to have a Redskins Meaningless Mock Draft and possibly a full 1st round mock as well as time permits.

So keep checking back with Same As It Ever Was and follow me on Twitter @HmBrewer72 for future updates.

What I Expect The Redskins To Do With Their Draft Picks

The Redskins have 4 picks in the top 100 and this year would be a great time to address serious needs on the roster. Luckily, this is a good class for a top tier edge rusher and a deep class of talented WRs and interior offensive linemen. While this year's class has a limited amount of potential day 1 "franchise quarterbacks", it does seem to have a decent group of developmental prospects who could become future starters or at least solid backup options.

So in no particular order, I expect the team to target the best available players at Edge/OLB/DE, OG/OC, WR and QB with picks 15, 46, 76 and 96.
On day three, I expect the team to target depth at TE, ILB, S, OG, OT, CB, WR and RB.
Also knowing the Redskins, I wouldn't be surprised to see the team either trade up or trade down in days 2 and 3 to get back their 4th round pick they lost to Green Bay.

So is this what you expect the Redskins will do?
Let me know in the comments or on Twitter. What you think the team will do and what trades you think they will make either before or during the draft?
