Here are some of the free agents that could be targeted. Obviously, the Redskins cant sign each player, but having what looks to be substantial cap room will allow for some flexibility. Who do you like in this list and who would you avoid?

Possible Free Agent Targets:

Quarterbacks:
Chase Daniel, Kansas City

Running Backs:
Lamar Miller, Miami
Ronnie Hillman, Denver

Wide Receivers:
Rishard Matthews, Miami
Marvin Jones, Cincinnati
Travis Benjamin, Cleveland

Tight Ends:

Offensive Tackles:

Guards:
Kelechi Osemele, Baltimore
Michael Harris, Minnesota
Jeff Allen, Kansas City

Centers:

Defensive Tackles:

Defensive End:
Malik Jackson, Denver
Jaye Howard, Kansas City

Linebackers:
Brandon Marshall, Denver
Danny Trevathan, Denver

Cornerbacks:
Janoris Jenkins, Los Angeles
Brandon Boykin, Pittsburgh

Safeties:
George Iloka, Cincinnati

Teams With Serious Cap Issues:
Miami
New Orleans
Buffalo
New York Jets
Pittsburgh
New England
Baltimore
Detroit

Teams With Enormous Cap Room:
Jacksonville
Oakland
San Francisco
Chicago
Tampa Bay

Teams with serious cap issues could help the Redskins if they have their eyes on a certain player or players. However, teams with plenty of cap room could snipe a Redskins player. The Chris Culliver situation is interesting and BBQ thinks there will be a definite restructure in his immediate future or be released. BBQ believes that it is increasingly possible that DeSean Jackson will be released. That can be discussed in comments as we go along. BBQ thinks that Dashon Goldson likely restructures his contract to a much more team friendly deal. Also, we have decided to include very good football players on the free agent list from other teams only. It is almost impossible to know who of the lesser players could be targeted, so no attempts will be made unless media chatter dictates otherwise. Obviously the Redskins cant sign each player, but we think that two very good free agents could be on the table.

Well update the free agency situations frequently and as media chatter warrants. The first mock draft for 2016 is coming later this week.

Hail To The Redskins!

Very interesting article about Culliver. If that clause does not come into play he would hit the cap @ $9.25M but carry $11.75M in dead money for a cap loss of $2.5M. If the clause is activated then it's $3.75M in dead money but the salary goes away for a cap gain of $5.5M. That's a pretty big difference.

If DeSean gets cut as post June 1 or June 1 designee that cap savings jumps to $8M. Although he is signed through 2017 that year is an option ($1.25M automatically voids after the Super Bowl) that was basically thrown into the contract so the Skins could spread the cap hit over 4 seasons so I think he should be treated as a FA sooner than later and not wait for the option date to roll around if they want to extend him.

George Iloka might be a tough one to get. The Bengals have the 9th highest cap space and not much depth behind Reggie Nelson (also a UFA but at 32 they'll need to groom a replacement). Not really a great group of FA Safety's out there that look like a good fit Washington. Tashaun Gipson maybe? He had an off year in 2015 but was pretty productive in '13 & '14 plus he is 25. The Browns have good cap space so that might another one that's hard to get. On the other hand it is the Browns so you never know...

I might add Trumaine Johnson to the CB list. Rams have good cap space but wow - a whole lot of needs on offense. They gave up the fewest sacks in the league and still found a way to finish 32nd in total offense, passing and receiving. Obviously a better QB would help a lot with that.
