LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Redskins announced today that they have signed three unrestricted free agents: defensive lineman Terrell McClain, defensive lineman Stacy McGee and safety D.J. Swearinger. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

McClain (6-2, 302) was originally selected by the Carolina Panthers in the third round (65th overall) of the 2011 NFL Draft. He has appeared in 62 career regular season games, making 27 starts, for the Carolina Panthers, New England Patriots, Houston Texans and Dallas Cowboys. For his career, he has compiled 90 tackles (58 solo), eight tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, three fumbles forced and two fumbles recovered, according to STATS.

Last season, McClain made a career-high 15 starts and helped the Cowboys post the league’s top-ranked rushing defense (83.5 yards allowed per game). He posted career highs in tackles (40), solo tackles (21), sacks (2.5) and forced fumbles (two).

McClain played collegiately at South Florida, where he accrued 89 tackles (17 for loss) and 7.5 sacks in 50 games with 33 starts. In 2010, he earned All-Big East honors after contributing to the Bulls’ No. 17 national ranking in total defense.

McClain, 28, attended Pensacola (Fla.) H.S., where he amassed 65 tackles and eight sacks as a senior en route to earning first-team Class 3A all-state honors. He was born July 20, 1988.

McGee (6-3, 310) is entering his fifth NFL season after initially being selected by the Oakland Raiders in the sixth round (205th overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft. For his career, McGee has appeared in 51 career games with 18 starts, compiling 63 tackles (44 solo), five tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumbles recovered, according to STATS.

Last season, McGee recorded career highs in starts (nine), tackles for loss (three), sacks (2.5) and forced fumbles (two) despite being limited by injuries to nine regular season games. He returned for the team’s AFC Wild Card Round game against Houston, contributing two solo tackles in the contest.

McGee played collegiately at Oklahoma, appearing in 34 games with 15 starts. During his time as a Sooner, he totaled 63 tackles (29 solo), 9.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks.

McGee, 27, attended Muskogee (Okla.) H.S., where he earned all-state selections from both the Tulsa World and The Oklahoman. He was born Jan. 17, 1990.

Swearinger (5-10, 205) is entering his fifth NFL season after initially being selected by the Houston Texans in the second round (57th overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft.
