    • Burner's Burning Questions: Free Agency, The Mock Drafts, 2017 (Continual Updates)

The 2017 NFL offseason is officially here. With the first day of no football, BBQ will take a look at intriguing free agent targets for the Redskins. While we dont officially list them in the regular periodical free agency updates, we simply want to list some players of note.

Will the Redskins sign any of them? Possibly. It will depend on who the team retains, releases, re-signs, or declines to re-sign. We are listing this group only once (today) and the team interest or lack thereof.

Lets take a look at the players.

      Running Backs:
Latavius Murray, Raiders Could he do better in a new system? Probably not. Team interest: Very likely not.

      Wide Receivers:
Kenny Britt, Rams There seems to be mutual interest. Had his best year thus far. Team interest: Very possible.
Robert Woods, Bills The potential is there. Played in a quarterback-challenged system. Still very young. Team interest: Maybe.
Cordarrelle Patterson, Vikings Has never lived up to his billing. Team interest: Not likely.

      Tight Ends:

Luke Joeckel, Jaguars Hasnt lived up to the hype. Can he turn it around? Redskins interest: Highly unlikely.

      Defensive Tackles:
Dontari Poe, Chiefs Huge presence in the middle. Redskins interest: Probably too expensive.
Bennie Logan, Eagles Good, steady player. Reliable. Redskins interest: Reported to be a target.

      Defensive Ends:
Chandler Jones, Cardinals Young and talented. Would fill a huge need. Redskins interest: Way too expensive.

      Inside Linebackers:
Gerald Hodges, 49ers Would be a substantial upgrade. Redskins interest: Not likely.

      Outside Linebackers:

Prince Amukamara, Jaguars Had a good 2016. Would be very affordable. Redskins interest: A longshot maybe.
Dre Kirkpatrick, Bengals Hasnt lived up to his potential. Redskins interest: Probably not.

Eric Berry, Chiefs Elite talent. Redskins interest: Only if there was no salary cap.
D.J. Swearinger, Cardinals Had a good 2016 and could be a bargain signing. Redskins interest: None reported, but it is a team need.
