      REDSKINS-EAGLES GAME NOTES

      · The Washington Redskins defeated the Philadelphia Eagles, 27-22, in front of an announced crowd of 69,596 people at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday.

      · The Redskins improved to 7-5-1 this season, including a 3-3-1 mark on the road in 2016. The Redskins also improved to 3-2 in division play this season.

      · The Redskins have now earned five straight victories against the Eagles for the first time since a six-game winning streak in the series across the 1981-84 seasons.

      · The Redskins have now earned consecutive road wins against the Eagles for the first time since the 2007-08 seasons.

      · Head Coach Jay Gruden earned his 20th victory with the Redskins. He is the ninth coach in team history to reach 20 wins, joining Joe Gibbs (171), George Allen (79), Ray Flaherty (56), Norv Turner (50) Joe Kuharich (26), Jack Pardee (24), Mike Shanahan (24) and Bill McPeak (21).

      · With a 334-yard day, the Redskins tied a team record by exceeding 300 yards of offense for a 17th consecutive regular season game, dating back to last season, matching the mark set across the 1987-88 seasons.

      · The Redskins have now gained 3,936 net passing yards this season, fifth-most in a single season in team history.

      · Quarterback Kirk Cousins completed 14-of-21 passes for 234 yards with two touchdowns and one interception for a passer rating of 116.0.

      · Cousins helped engineer an eight-play, 77-yard game-winning touchdown drive, the sixth fourth-quarter come-from-behind win of his career.

      · Cousins eclipsed 4,000 passing yards this season during the contest, becoming the first player in team history with multiple 4,000-yard passing seasons (2015 and 2016).

      · Cousins (4,045) passed Brad Johnson (4,005 in 1999) for third-most passing yards in a single season in team history.

      · Cousins threw a touchdown pass in a 12th straight game to tie for the fifth-longest streak in team history.

      · Cousins has now thrown at least one touchdown pass in 28 of 29 regular season games since assuming the starting role prior to the 2015 season, including each of the last 12 games dating back to Week 2.

      · Cousins threw a touchdown pass in his 17th consecutive road game. His 16-game road streak entering the day already ranked as the second-longest in team history. Cousins has thrown a touchdown pass in every road game since earning the starting role prior to the 2015 season.

      · Cousins now has 23 passing touchdowns this season, tied for the 10th-most touchdown passes in a single season in team history.

      · With his last completion of the game, Cousins tied Billy Kilmer (953) for sixth-most career completions in team history.

      · With his eighth completion of the game, an 80-yard touchdown pass, Cousins moved past Jason Campbell (327 in 2009) for second-most completions in a single season in team history.

      · Cousins connected with wide receiver DeSean Jackson for an 80-yard touchdown in the third quarter.

      · The touchdown was Jackson’s 22nd career 60-plus-yard touchdown, moving past Devin Hester (21) for sole possession of second-most total touchdowns of 60 yards or more in NFL history. He is one shy of tying Jerry Rice (23) for the most in NFL history.

      · The touchdown was also Jackson’s 26th career 50-plus-yard touchdown, tying Steve Smith, Sr. (26) for fourth in total touchdowns of 50 yards or more in the NFL since the 1970 merger.

      · The pass from Cousins to Jackson was the longest by members of the Redskins since the duo connected for an 81-yard touchdown pass at Philadelphia in Week 3 of the 2014 season.

      · Jackson has now recorded a reception of 50 yards or more in three consecutive games for the first time since Weeks 6-8 of the 2009 season as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles.

      · The catch was Jackson’s 26th career reception of 50 yards or more. Since Jackson entered the league in 2008, no other NFL player has recorded more than 14 such receptions.

      · The touchdown reception was Jackson’s fourth of the season and the 46th of his career.

      · Jackson finished the game with three receptions for 102 yards with the touchdown.

      · Jackson recorded his 10th 100-yard receiving game as a member of the Redskins, tying Henry Ellard (10) for ninth-most in team history.

      · On a 15-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Pierre Garçon in the third quarter, Cousins posted the fourth 4,000-yard passing season in team history, joining himself (4,166 in 2015), Jay Schroeder (4,109 in 1986) and Brad Johnson (4,005 in 1999).

      · Garçon finished the game with five receptions for 59 yards with the touchdown.

      · Garçon’s touchdown reception was his third of the season and the 37th of his career.

      · The receiving touchdown was Garçon’s 21st as a member of the Redskins, tying him with Jean Fugett (21) for 12th-most career receiving touchdowns in team history.

      · Garçon extended his streak of consecutive regular season games played with a reception to 99, the fifth-longest active streak in the NFL. Seventy-one of the games in Garçon’s streak have come with Washington, the third-longest streak by a member of the Redskins since the 1970 merger.

      · During the contest, Garçon passed Michael Westbrook (4,280) for 10th-most career receiving yards in team history.

      · Running back Robert Kelley led the Redskins with 16 rushing attempts for 63 yards with one rushing touchdown.

      · Kelley scored on a 22-yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter, the fifth rushing touchdown of his rookie season.

      · Kelley’s 22-yard rushing touchdown was the longest rushing touchdown by the member of the Redskins since a 39-yard touchdown run by Matt Jones in Week 2 of the 2015 season vs. St. Louis.

      · Running back Chris Thompson scored the game-winning touchdown on a 25-yard run in the game’s final two minutes.

      · The rushing touchdown was Thompson’s second of the season and second of his career.

      · The Redskins had multiple players score rushing touchdowns of 20 yards or longer in a single game for the first time since Week 7 of the 1991 season vs. Cleveland (Ricky Ervins, 65; Earnest Byner, 21).

      · The Redskins rushed for 107 yards and have now reached the 100-yard mark in six of their last eight contests.

      · Wide receiver Jamison Crowder recorded two catches for 37 yards. He has 60 receptions this season, surpassing his single-season career high of 59 receptions set in 2015.

      · During the contest, Crowder (119) moved past Rod Gardner (117) for sole possession of second-most receptions by a member of the Redskins during a player's first two NFL seasons.

      · Tight end Vernon Davis caught one pass, tying Steve Jordan (498) for 14th on the NFL's list of career receptions by a tight end.

      · Tight end Jordan Reed tied Brian Mitchell (232) for 14th on the Redskins' all-time receptions list.

      · Linebacker Ryan Kerrigan started his 93rd consecutive game, the second-longest active streak among NFL linebackers. Kerrigan has not missed a start in his NFL career.

      · Kerrigan helped the Redskins seal a victory with a sack and forced fumble on the Eagles’ final drive.

      · The sack was Kerrigan’s 11th of the season, giving him 58.5 for his career. Kerrigan’s 11.0 sacks in 2016 are tied for the 10th-most in a single season in team history.

      · Kerrigan has now posted a sack in four consecutive games for the second time this season (Weeks 5-8).

      · The forced fumble was the 19th of Kerrigan’s career, tying Charles Tillman (19) for the second-most by any NFL player since Kerrigan entered the league in 2011.

      · Linebacker Trent Murphy recovered the fumble caused by Kerrigan, the first recovery of the season and fourth career recovery for Murphy.

      · The Redskins recorded four sacks and have notched at least four sacks in four consecutive games against the Eagles, dating back to 2015. It is the team’s first such stretch in its series against Philadelphia since a five-game span across the 1989-91 seasons.

      · Safety Donte Whitner Sr. started his 150th career regular season game.

      · Safety Deshazor Everett played his first defensive snaps of the season and recorded his first career interception, picking off Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz in the end zone in the first quarter.

      · The Redskins recorded a sack in their 21st consecutive regular season game, dating back to last season. Entering the week, Washington's active streak ranked first in the NFC and fourth in the NFL (Denver, 29; Oakland, 26; Cincinnati, 25).

      · The Redskins pushed a regular season sack streak to 21 games for the first time since a 30-game span across the 2008-10 seasons.

      · Kicker Dustin Hopkins had a streak of 15 consecutive games with a field goal snapped. Hopkins was one game shy of tying Mark Moseley (16 consecutive games across the 1976-77 seasons) for the second-longest streak in team history.

      · The Redskins improved to 86-73-5 all-time against the Eagles, including postseason play. The Redskins' 86 all-time wins against the Eagles are their most against any opponent.

      · The Redskins pushed their all-time record against the Eagles in Philadelphia to 42-38-2, including postseason play. The Redskins’ 42 all-time road wins against the Eagles are their most against any opponent.

      · The Redskins have now scored 27 or more points in five of their last six meetings with the Eagles.

      · The Redskins trailed, 13-7, at halftime. Washington is now 4-4 this season when trailing at the half.

      · The game was the Redskins’ third of their first three-game road stretch since Weeks 9-11 of the 2002 season.
