    • Game Notes: Redskins at Ravens 2016

      REDSKINS-RAVENS GAME NOTES

      • The Washington Redskins defeated the Baltimore Ravens, 16-10, in front of an announced crowd of 71,318 people at M&T Bank Stadium on Sunday.
      • The Redskins pushed their record this season to 3-2 and are above .500 through five games for the first time since 2011.
      • The Redskins are now in the midst of their first three-game winning streak since a four-game stretch to close the 2015 season.
      • The Redskins earned their first win against the Ravens in Baltimore all-time and evened their all-time road record against the Ravens at 1-1.
      • The Redskins earned their first regular season win in the city of Baltimore since defeating the Baltimore Colts, 14-13, at Memorial Stadium on Oct. 23, 1955.
      • The Redskins held the Ravens to 10 points, the fewest points allowed by the Redskins since Week 2 of the 2015 season vs. St. Louis (10).
      • Quarterback Kirk Cousins completed 29-of-41 passes for 260 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
      • During the game, Cousins (1,142) passed Eddie LeBaron (1,104) for eighth on the team’s all-time passing attempts list.
      • Cousins (748) also moved past Gus Frerotte (744) for seventh on the team’s all-time completions list.
      • Wide receiver Jamison Crowder scored his first career punt return for touchdown in the first quarter, covering 85 yards on the play.
      • Crowder’s punt return for touchdown was the Redskins’ first since Oct. 26, 2008, when Santana Moss returned a punt 80 yards for a touchdown at Detroit.
      • Crowder’s touchdown snapped a streak of 124 regular season games without a punt return for touchdown for the Redskins, which had been the longest active streak in the NFL.
      • The 85-yard return by Crowder was the longest by a member of the Redskins since an 87-yard return for touchdown by Antwaan Randle El at Indianapolis on Oct. 22, 2006.
      • At 23 years and 114 days old, Crowder became the youngest member of the Redskins to return a punt for a touchdown since Brian Mitchell (23 years, 35 days) at Cincinnati on Sept. 22, 1991, according to records provided by Pro Football Reference.
      • The 85-yard return was a career long for Crowder, surpassing a 50-yard return against the New York Giants in Week 3.
      • Cornerback Will Blackmon tied a career long with a 45-yard kickoff return in the second quarter, matching his 45-yard return vs. Atlanta on Oct. 5, 2008, as a member of the Green Bay Packers.
      • The game marked the first time the Redskins had recorded a 70-plus-yard punt return and a 40-plus-yard kickoff return in a single game since Oct. 27, 1996 vs, Indianapolis (Brian Mitchell, 43-yard kickoff return and 71-yard punt return).
      • Wide receiver Pierre Garçon recorded his first touchdown reception of the season on a 21-yard pass from Cousins in the third quarter.
      • The receiving touchdown was the 35th of Garçon’s career and his 19th as a member of the Redskins. With the score, he tied Charlie Brown and Clint Didier for 15th-most receiving touchdowns in team history.
      • Linebacker Ryan Kerrigan recorded a sack on the final play of the first half. The sack was the 50th of his career, allowing Kerrigan to become the third player in team history to reach 50 career sacks since the NFL adopted sacks as an official statistic in 1982 (Dexter Manley and Charles Mann).
      • Defensive lineman Ziggy Hood recorded his first sack as a member of the Redskins, dropping Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco for an eight-yard loss in the second quarter.
      • The sack was Hood’s first since Week 6 of the 2014 season as a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
      • Linebacker Terence Garvin and linebacker Trent Murphy split a sack in the third quarter. The half-sack was the first of Garvin’s career.
      • With the half-sack, Murphy pushed his current single-season career-high in sacks this year to 4.5. He has now recorded at least half a sack in four consecutive games.
      • Kicker Dustin Hopkins’ first field goal attempt of a career-long 56 yards fell short, concluding his career-long streak of 16 consecutive successful field goal attempts in regular season play, dating back to last season.
      • Running back Robert Kelley recorded a career-long 16-yard rush in the third quarter.
      • Safeties Donte Whitner Sr. and Josh Evans each made their Redskins debuts after signing with the team earlier in the week.
      • The Redskins recorded a takeaway in a seventh consecutive regular season game (dating back to last season) for the first time since a 10-game stretch from Week 12 of the 2013 season through Week 4 of the 2014 season.
      • The Redskins gained 310 yards, exceeding 300 yards of offense in a ninth consecutive regular season game, dating back to last season, the team’s longest streak since a 10-game stretch in Weeks 1-11 in 2014.
      • The Redskins are now 2-0 on the road this season and have opened a season by winning their first two road games for the first time since 1999.
      • The Redskins have now won back-to-back road games for the first time since Weeks 14-16 last year.
      • The Redskins evened their all-time record against the Ravens at 3-3.
      • The Redskins improved to 2-1 against AFC North opponents this season.
      • The Redskins swept the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens in consecutive games again in 2016 after Washington swept Baltimore and Cleveland in back-to-back weeks in 2012 (the most recent season in which the Redskins faced AFC North opponents).
