Burner’s Burning Questions: Free Agency, Mock Drafts, Camps, Roster Predictions, 2018

Greetings from BBQ to everyone here at BGO. We hope you have had a good week. Hello to everyone on social media. We’d love to have you as a member here and become a part of the family.

Free Agency has all but dwindled down for now. OTAs and mini-camps are ongoing. Training camp will be here soon. We’ll cover it all and give everyone at BGO the best coverage possible.

BBQ continues our off-season evaluations. We will examine the various positions and give an assessment. Today we feature the tackles and next week it will be the defensive line. We’ll post an evaluation of each group for the next few weeks.

      Let’s get right to it!

      Left Tackle:
      Trent Williams
The Redskins have had great success at left tackle for nearly forty years. Joe Jacoby. Jim Lachey. Chris Samuels. The legacy continues with Trent Williams.

Williams is the starter. Any questions? We didn’t think so.

      Right Tackle:
      Morgan Moses
Moses had a rough first year, but he settled in quickly and has been one of the best right tackles in the NFL ever since. His position on the right side is cemented.

Look for Moses to bounce back from injuries and have another good season. He could be a candidate for the Pro Bowl.

      Ty Nsekhe
Ty has the overwhelming size and bulk to play either tackle position. For now, he is the backup swing tackle and could be pressed into service if injuries occur to Williams or Moses.

There had been talk of moving big Ty to guard, but that is not likely. His presence and effectiveness as the swing tackle has been helpful to the Redskins in recent years. His role should remain the same.

      Geron Christian
Geron Christian will eventually fill the role that Ty Nsekhe does as the swing tackle. He will be on the roster of fifty-three, but will likely be a healthy scratch for most games unless there are injuries to any of the aforementioned players.

Christian will likely be the backup swing tackle in 2019 and could be a starter within a few years.

      Other Tackles
T.J. Clemmings, Cameron Jefferson, John Kling, Alex Balducci, and Timon Parris are all fighting for a roster position. Clemmings, Jefferson, and Balducci are facing long odds.

Kling and Parris are prime candidates for the practice squad.

There is our latest look at roster positions this off-season. Next week we will look at the defensive ends and defensive tackles.

      Have a great week.

      Hail To The Redskins!
