The Giants: Third Time The Charm?

The Giants, coming off an improbable win over the Saints, now sit at 2-0 and the Skins, after stumbling to an inauspicious 0-2 start come to visit amid lockerroom turmiol, ex-player recriminations and fan dismay hoping to right the ship before it runs aground.

Giants fans haven't been ignoring the seemingly chronic hullabaloo surrounding the Redskins in its latest incarnation but they have their own worries and concerns about the game mostly dealing with deficiences in the Giants ...
  2. Off to The Big Apple.

0-2. This is a number I'm used to.

Kirk says his receivers have every right to be pissed at him (or words to that effect!). Once again, we took chunks out of the yardage required until we got to the red zone, then it was field goal heaven. When we did threaten, the ball was picked off. Fortunately, it wasn't a pick 6 as one of those would have put Dallas further in front.

I was hoping the 'Dak Attack' novelty had worn off by week two, but when Dak led the Cowgirls ...

In 2013, Peyton Manning threw for an incredible 5,477 yards. In doing so, he broke the all-time NFL record for the most passing yards in a single season.

5,544 yards. After two games, that's the pace that Kirk Cousins is on this very season.

    Hard to believe, right?

Ask just about any Skins fan, and they'll quickly give you a hot take on how badly Kirk Cousins has played this season. ...

The Cowboys: Stumbling out of the gate

The Redskins and the Romo-less Cowboys, both coming off opening losses both desparate for a win.

And both loaded with a fanbase full of angst, worry and whistling-in-the-dark hope about how the rest of the season might go.

Dallas fans are worried about substitute QB Dak Prescott, worried about a shaky pass D-and to a notable extent not at all impressed with the job Jason Garret

    is doing at head coach.

    (Sound familiar Redskins fans?) ...
  5. Week One Grades, Evaluations, Questions

Greetings from the international headquarters of BBQ.

Week one is in the books and now we take a look at how the entire team fared against the Steelers. It was a contest that started on a high note, but progressed into a shameful display of ineptitude. We will try to make some sense of it all as BBQ hands out grades, evaluations and questions. Feel free to offer your own grades, evaluations, questions, and opinions.

BBQ has revised this format a bit. Let us know ...

That has been the cry for as long as I can remember. Week 2 sees us hosting a Romo-less Cowgirls, but having Dak is the pilot's chair should make it easy for our D-line. However, the easier it is, the harder our D-line seems to make it.

Cullen Jenkins will be an instant upgrade, but will not start. I'd give him a couple of weeks to get to know our scheme. However, he could start immediately and told to just get on their side of the ball and give their runner less room. Speaking ...

It’s the Wednesday after, and the post-mortems on the Redskins season-opening woodshed job at the hands of the Pittsburgh have been plentiful and thorough.

The micro angles have all been covered:

On offense, Kirk Cousins looked average. The running game went nowhere. Newcomers parsed all summer—RB Rob Kelley, WR Josh Docston, LB Sua Cravens—were non-factors. Good drives and scoring opportunities resulted ...

  8. My take on anything and everything Burgundy and Gold
while living in the heart of the wilderness. I am a fan, nothing more or less.

    Just One Game...Or Is It?

    It’s just one game.

The fans of 16 teams are all saying that today after opening weekend. Half the league is clinging doggedly to the same mantra…

It’s just one game. It’s just one game.

I am left to wonder if they are clicking their heals together hopefully and holding their dog when they say it?

But is it really just one game if you are expecting the team to compete for the playoffs. Or, perish the thought, more than that? Is it just ...

My off-beat look at the trials, tribulations, and triumphs
inherent in the world of a lifelong Redskins fan.

    Trump Cards

I think we can all agree on one thing in this incredibly divisive Presidential election cycle.

It’s time to make the Redskins great again!

And it’s going to happen…believe me. It’s going to be huuuuge. We’re going to win so much, you’ll get sick of winning.

I know many Redskins fans bemoaned the fact that we didn’t build a wall in this year’s NFL draft. The center of our dreams was tantalizingly within reach. Many of us wanted the B&G to take big ugly ...

The Steelers-Monday Night Football-Hello NFL World!

Well, here it is-the first regular season game for the Skins-MNF, no less-against the Steelers.

Time to get a first look at what all the offseason maneuvering and football cookery has concocted.

Now to the topic at hand, what are Steelers fans saying about Monday Night?

Well, for one thing, they don't expect to just run the Skins into the ground in a ho-hum opener against a bottom-feeder opponent.

They expect a tough, hard fought game. ...
