    Bob is #winning :) It's actually more complicated than that. Somewhere along the line I started playing by ear vs. reading my sheet music. Was the best sax player in middle school. But auditions for HS band required cold reading of a piece w/sheet music only. I opted out of that stress exercise.

    lol I did the same thing with the trumpet. I played it for 4 years and was really good at it. quit because I didnt want to be a band nerd kid.

    Life man. I stopped playing when I got to high school because I wanted to be cool and being a band nerd didn't check that box. Saxophones cost big bucks, so getting my hands on one was easy to wait on.
