      Head Coach Jay Gruden

      On the injury report:
"No Injury report today, the only thing of note is [CB Dominique Rodgers Cromartie] DRC is going to have surgery pretty soon on his ankle, so we put him on IR."

On LBs Cassanova McKinzy and Montez Sweat's production so far this season:
"I think pass rush in general, we gotta get better overall as a group. Whether it's gains inside or beating guys one-on-one, we haven't done a very good job of that as of now. It's something we're concentrating and getting better at. Montez is a young football player, he’s still learning the angles, working on his get-off all that stuff. He's got some length, got some speed, we know that. Now we just got to figure out a way to let him utilize it a little bit better. Hopefully that'll happen here soon."

On if McKinzy and Sweat are playing through injuries:
"[LB Cassanova McKinzy] ‘Cas’ maybe a little bit. [DE Montez] Sweat's O.K."

On if Cassanova McKinzy practiced today: ...

On the defense’s performance in Week 2:
"We didn't play good enough without a doubt. [The Cowboys] are a good football team I've mentioned before. You got to give them credit number one. Number two, I think we got to challenge them. I think we got to stay on course here. Play more physical up front, get after the quarterback, obviously stopping the run is our number one priority. I think we gave up 200 yards -- a couple big runs by [QB Dak] Prescott, obviously, [RB Ezekiel Elliott] had a couple good hits. Our standards haven't changed; we just got to play better and demand more.

On his comments of ‘reaching’ the players on defense after the game:
"I think we're reaching them fine; we just got to play better. Like ...

      On injuries:
      “No injuries of note.”

On what hasn’t worked on defense:
“I don’t know yet. I’ll have to go back and watch this film. There are no excuses to be had. We have to look at ourselves, and we have to play better. We’re minus a couple pieces in the secondary, that has an issue. But really, we should be better than this. That’s on us, obviously, as coaches and we have to get more out. We have a very talented group on defense, and we’re not reaching them. We have to play better, and we will play better. We have 14 games left and still a lot of football to play.”

On if there will be any coaching changes:
“No, I think after two games – you’re talking about playing two very ...

      On the offensive performance:
“I think those guys played well. Obviously, there’s some plays that I want back. It’s a lot of things you know. I think offensive-wise, we did a great job pass blocking. There was only one sack again against another great front. I thought they did a great job. Guys made plays downfield. But there are definitely some balls that I want back. We fought hard, man. We left it all out there. Do we make mistakes? Yeah. Are there plays that we could have made that would have changed the course of the game? Yeah, for sure. And that's football. We are going to go learn from it and keep going.”

On WR Steven Sims Jr. and the versality of the offense:
“Yeah, we have so much offense. It’s unbelievable what those guys can do upstairs. And some of the looks that they're able to produce and getting guys open. Different formations and just getting guys out in different spaces. These guys, man, they are some of the best I've been around doing that. We just got to keep attacking and hitting our shots when they come.”

On what needs to change going forward:
“A lot of things. We need to win. ...

      Head Coach Jay Gruden

      Opening statement:
“Out will be [DL Jonathan] Allen, knee, [DL Caleb] Brantley, foot, [QB Colt] McCoy, fibula, [TE Jordan] Reed, concussion. Questionable will be [CB Quinton] Dunbar. Doubtful will be [CB Fabian] Moreau, ankle. And [RB Derrius] Guice will be out as well.”

On if something happened today that caused Reed to be declared out for Sunday:
“It just didn’t work out this week as far as feeling 100 percent to play in a game.”

On how the corner situation will look if Dunbar and Moreau can’t play in Week 2:
“We have the guys on the depth chart, that’s who is going to play. We’ll have to line them up accordingly depending on who is in there and how we decide to do it. So, the depth chart is up there and we’ll have to figure out how to line them up.”

      Head Coach Jay Gruden

      Opening statement:
“Did not participate: [DL] Jonathan Allen, knee, he’s getting evaluated. Same thing with [DL Caleb] Brantley’s foot and [RB Derrius] Guice’s knee. [Quarterback Colt] McCoy was out today and [S] Montae Nicholson was out with a foot. Limited were [TE Jordan] Reed, concussion and [CB Fabian] Moreau, ankle, [CB Quinton] Dunbar, knee. Obviously, we put [CB Greg] Stroman down, he had surgery on a core muscle injury.”

On if Reed is still in the protocol:
“I’ve explained this 3,000 times, O.K. They’re never really totally out of the protocol, they just continue to get more work in practice. He did a lot of work in team today, which is good. He’s just gotta continue to get more reps and we’ll continue to monitor how he’s feeling afterwards.”

      On Nicholson’s foot injury:
“He just has a sprained foot a little bit, but we’ll see how he’s doing tomorrow.”

On if there is a timeline for McCoy’s return:
“I do not, no. This is something that he’s going to continue ...

      On the injury report:
"[Colt] McCoy did not participate, [Fabian] Moreau did not participate; ankle. Limited were: Cassanova [McKinzy] with a concussion, [Jordan] Reed concussion, they’re both in the protocol still. [Caleb] Brantley with his foot. That's it."

On TE Jordan Reed’s availability for Week 1:
"Anytime anybody is in the concussion protocol, that means they have to pass the test and they continue to progress throughout practice and then they have to see how they are after practice the next morning, if they still have symptoms they take the test and once they're cleared to go full then we'll get the nod. We're just taking it based on what the doctors are telling us we can do. He was meetings today. He did some individual today, so hopefully that's the first positive step and we'll know more tomorrow."

On if there is a specific day when he will decide whether Reed will play or not:
"I don't really put a time on it. I just want get the information and we’ll decide when we get the information if he can go or not."

On if there is an update on QB Colt McCoy:

      The Eagles can be beaten.

Coming off a Super Bowl-winning season in 2018, the supposedly world-class dominant Eagles sputtered losing 4 of their first 7 games, including dropping a pair of games to sub-par teams in the Bucs and Titans, and losing at home to the Panthers and Vikings. Think history can’t repeat itself?

Contrary to popular opinion, the Redskins are not a bad team. Young? Unproven? And lead by a journeyman QB? A work in serious progress? Yep. But bad? I don’t think so. This Redskins roster is younger, faster, and more physical than any in recent memory. They face a tough challenge to open their 2019 season, back to back matchups against two supposedly dominant and anointed NFC East teams in the Eagles and Cowboys. One positive trend - the Redskins have been better on the road to ...
