At least one general manager believes the Magic won't trade Dwight Howard to the Lakers.
Orlando would let Howard sign outright in free agency "rather than take garbage the Lakers would offer," said the GM. "Nobody wants their old guys."

It's getting crazy. The Magic have called a press conference tomorrow morning. All sorts of speculation in every different direction.

The Rockets, Celtics and Mavericks have told the Hornets that they are prepared to trade for Chris Paul without an assurance that he would sign a long-term deal.
Boston is believed to have the best potential offer out of those three teams since they would include Rajon Rondo.
Those so-called gambling teams would almost certainly beat any deal that the Knicks could offer, even though they are widely presumed to be Paul's preferred destination.

Doc Rivers probably talked to Dwight at length, seeing that both live in Orlando.

Too cold up there my friend. Here's one for you though. Notice the special emphasis.
On the first day NBA teams could contact players directly, Danny Ainge made clear his desire to keep his own house in order.
With a clear and critical need to bring in new talent, one of the first calls the Celtics president made was to one of his own free agents, Glen Davis.
“It’s my understanding that Danny called Glen early this morning and expressed his desire to have Glen back,” said John Hamilton, Davis’ representative.
Hamilton wouldn’t say much beyond that, but the sides have been talking for several days about what it will take to retain Big Baby.

So they want Big Baby, but want Rondo is up in the air?

According to a person familiar with the discussions, the Celtics offered Rajon Rondo, two future first-round picks, and restricted free agent Jeff Green in a sign-and-trade for Paul.
The impetus behind the Celtics' potential rental offer for Paul was intriguing: Come to Boston, take a shot at winning a title with Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett while the window is still open, and then have enough room to entice Dwight Howard to come on board as an unrestricted free agent next summer. Garnett and Allen come off the books July 1, leaving the Celtics with only $30.4 million in committed salary for next season, when Howard can opt out of his contract with Orlando.
Though Paul has never expressed a desire to play in Boston, if he liked his new surroundings and the Celtics' chances of luring Howard, he would be in a championship-contending situation and could get his max deal of five years, $100 million six months after the trade.

Rondo's jumper.
What you've always pointed out McD5. I had hoped he would develop that but I guess it's not happening.
As for baby? I have no clue. I want him gone.
Hate his game and his selfishness.

I'm not sure that Rondo and two late first round picks would be enough to get it done. And Dwight hates the cold.
But it's good to have dreams.

It really is a shame. He could be fantastic if he could simply hit jumpers or FTs. He should have taken 200 of each every single day this offseason. For his sake, I hope he did. For my team's sake, I hope he didn't.
The biggest coaching error in Van Gundy's career was not playing hack-a-Rondo, and making him shoot. Terrible coaching. It drove me insane. Now the analysts and coaches are starting to catch on.

The Hornets are collecting bids for Chris Paul from several teams and are expected to make a decision by Friday, according to sources.
Offers coming from the Warriors and Clippers are believed to be the most enticing to New Orleans' GM Dell Demps.
The Clippers would have to include restricted free agent DeAndre Jordan, Al-Farouq Aminu, Eric Bledsoe and the 2012 first round pick from the Wolves to acquire Paul.
Paul would reportedly prefer the Clippers over the Warriors because of the chance of being paired with Blake Griffin and Eric Gordon.
Golden State is offering Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Ekpe Udoh to the Hornets.

I cant see ANY player wanting to go to the Clippers. they are known for getting good players, not surrounding them with talent and if they do just get rid of them anyways.
your best bet is going to be on the floor when the floor is purple and gold and not blue and red.

Tracy McGrady has agreed to a one-year deal with the Hawks for the veteran-minimum, according to a source.
McGrady played for the Pistons last season, starting in 39 of the 72 games in which he appeared.
McGrady will presumably replace the bench scoring provided by Jamal Crawford.

Grant Hill’s interest in joining the Knicks and being slotted as their starting shooting guard on a potential Eastern Conference contender is growing by the day, and there is a sense he is leaning toward that option.
The Bulls and Clippers have been mentioned as possible landing spots for Hill, who has played the past three seasons with the Suns.
Hill would be playing in the New York spotlight, where a basketball renaissance has taken place.
He would be thrust into the basketball mecca and his wife, Tamia, a recording artist, would be in the media and musical mecca.
She is expected to release a new album in two months.

Bad move for Hill if it happens. He needs to stay with the Suns training staff and whatever fountain of youth thing they have going on down there.

I'm not sure what's going on in Phoenix. And what about Nash?
I do have a little fact that people might enjoy. I am not rich, but I live by a lot of rich people. Anyway, I've worked out with/spotted TMac on more than a few occasions. I also know his little brother.
TMac can pound weights. I'm not Big Mike, Kdawg, or anyone like that. But I can promise you that I have seen TMac bench 225 or 235 twenty times in a row. I believe that's the weight they use in the NFL combines.
That guy is an animal, when you consider his weight.

thats pretty cool but Ive always disliked TMac. He has all this talent and he is lazy and moody like a little kid who pouts.
