Do you mind if I ask why you are moving, BB? Memphis is lovely though, you should enjoy it there.

The health thing - the team that takes care of me is expanding down there and it will have more access to resources. The cost of living in that area is far better too and that is another consideration for them and for the insurance company. I'll be living in an establishment (actually, just across the state line in Mississippi - just minutes from the main hospital and main care center in Memphis) that is fully gated, on site healthcare, on site meal prep (but I will continue to do most of that myself), on site gym, indoor/outdoor pools, and a ton of another needs/ammenities.
My folks have found a great assisted living center a few miles away on the Tennessee side and it is far superior to anything in this region. All in all, it is a win-win.

Sounds good, good luck with the move. Never much fun. Enjoy Memphis though. I lived there for a year growing up and loved the food. Great BBQ.

There are good things in any new area and there are things to avoid. I've known of this move for several months, but couldn't say much until it was pretty much a done deal. Personally, I'm hoping it will take the organizational aspects of this move a couple of years instead of one. Two more years of epic winters is all I want.

Someone is clipping their nails at their desk. HATE HATE HATE. That is the worst office behavior of all time, IMO. SO. GROSS.

Ugh. That's truly horrible.
Reason #5467 why I like my home office.

Im having one of those days where I miss living in MD/DC. I miss my father, I miss hanging out with my brother, and I dont even know my nephew who is 4 years old. My girl is very supportive and states she would move with me in a few years. Thats cool and all but today I am feeling bummed about living out here.
I want to see lightning, hear thunder, look up at an eery sky at 5PM and it feels like a tornado could drop in at any moment. I want to watch the lightning bugs, eat blue crabs, watch Redskins news ALL ****ING DAY!
this is the first time Ive felt like SD wasnt my home since moving here 18 years ago. Ehh..maybe its just a moment.

I used to get those when I was living in South Florida. Only difference is that it's much easier to get home from there than SoCal. You want me to mail you something from 'round these parts...except a dozen crabs! Actually, the restaurant down the street will package and over night crabs. I know that because my mommy did it for me several times so I have no idea of the costs. The funny thing is there was a restaurant 30 minutes away that had them when I was in South Florida...owner from MD and the blue crabs from Tampa (where they were shipped in from) were huge!

I have those days all the time, Mike. Mostly in the spring/summer, when I miss playing House League softball on the mall.

Not sure if it's been posted elsewhere on this board, but many of you may know on of the resident Cowboys fans royallypwned (Blake) who posted often over on ES. He unfortunately passed away last night in his sleep (ME hasn't determined a cause). If any of you interacted with him, you know he was as genuine and classy as people get. He will definitely be missed.
