No, I'm not predicting some massive crisis for the NFL whereby the tens of millions of rabid fans who devour the NFL each Sunday (and Thursday) suddenly decide to divest themselves of the spectacle in pursuit of other, more moral endeavors. No, I'm talking about something far more serious. My own personal tipping point. I think we're getting close to it.
I love the Redskins. I love the history, I love the players, I love the coaches, I love the owne... all right, ...byPublished on 09-30-14 08:06 PM Number of Views: 13

Head Coach Jay Gruden
On tight end Jordan Reed and defensive lineman Kedric Golston:
“They’re in the same boat. They’re still in the rehab position that they are in, and all of our injuries right now, you know… today was like a bonus day. Tomorrow they’re off, and when they come back Wednesday we’ll have a better idea. Today’s like a bonus day, but they’re still in the same position they were, a day-to-day type deal.”
On if he believes everyone took advantage of the three-day break:
“I hope so. Yeah, they came back fresh today and it was good to go back and just take a step back and evaluate ourselves and not so much worry about who we’re playing ...byPublished on 09-29-14 05:09 PM Number of Views: 23

Head Coach Jay Gruden
On the results of tackle Trent Williams’ MRI:
“Actually, he didn’t even have to have an MRI. He came in today and he just had patella inflammation. There was no instability, no swelling, and he should gradually improve and he should be OK. It was actually good news on Trent… That’s a relief, yes”
On tight end Niles Paul:
“Niles Paul’s got a concussion. He’s just got to go through his normal protocol as far as what the NFL has in store for him, what we have in store for him with the trainers, and that’s a day-to-day type thing. If they clear him, he should be able to go next week, but you’ve got to go through all the protocols. “
On the ‘most disturbing’ part of yesterday’s game:
"I think the most disturbing thing was – obviously, the ...byPublished on 09-26-14 10:18 AM Number of Views: 13
Any child of the 60’s or 70’s knows what I’m talking about. God help you if you skinned your knee, cut your finger, or suffered some other childhood trauma resulting in an open wound. Back then, a minor injury of that sort meant only one thing – Merthiolate. The bright orange hot poker-colored antiseptic liquid was the weapon of choice against infection. And it was a perfect symbol in that era of what we all were taught. If it hurts it must be good for you. Applied directly to a wound, Merthiolate stained your skin for days, and resulted in a burning flash of pain so intense, most Mom’s blew on the wound to try to provide some comfort. It was a strange ritual that almost every kid of that era experienced over and over again.

Quarterback Kirk Cousins
On his performance and the difference in the last two games:
“Yeah, I think I got a little bit of mind play because I was killing us here and there and all the turnovers in the second half. So what happened I would say, from the quarterback standpoint, I turned the ball over too much, especially [the] first two interceptions. We still ran it. You know, it really hurt and I felt like especially with the first one, it was third down, we were moving the ball, we were coming back, I feel like we were in it. Had that been a conversion, had I not turned the ball over there I think, you’d like to think, the game would have taken a different trail.”
On whether or not this was a snowball effect:
“Yeah, I think that certainly played a part of it. I was trying to get everything back in one play and you can’t do that. That’s not the way it’s going to come back so I was trying to force things and trying to do too much and just didn’t stay true to my reads ...
