Try listening to the radio broadcast on the internet, Blondie. That is what I am doing while waiting for a plane in Phoenix.

980 Sports (http://sports.espn.go.com/stations/player?station=dc)

Aldridge just fumbled a kickoff after fielding it in the Endzone. Jags recover and score. Talk about how NOT to play your way onto a team.

Elephant

Well Joey T. stated it well. If he wants to make this team he has to redeem that mistake.

Blondie

Thanks!

I saw the fumble mentioned on twitter on kick return and OMG I thought it was Rock.

Whew.

Made me nuts not to see it.

Neophyte

I doubt we see much of Rock tonight.

I don't think it was Mason.

It was Aldridge

I am just not into this game.

What is wrong with me?

Is it because I can't see it?

servumtuum

I know what you mean, Blondie, I'm listening online (thanks, Neo)-but I'm visual by nature and it's hard for me to get much of a handle on what's going on without watching.

Elephant

Guys, it's not much of a game anyway. Other than the fumble recovery for a TD it has been fairly bland.

Elephant
09-03-09, 08:30 PM
Offensive line is not looking good right now. Daniel has had no time to work that magic. lol

Is anyone still of the opinion that Mike Williams is an NFL tackle right now?

We need to find veteran depth after the final round of cuts.

Put Mike on IR and let him work toward 2010.

Guys I am not trying to rub it in, but after 12 years of dealing with internet feeds and NFL.com, it is so refreshing to be home watching it on TV.

Boone

I think all indications are that we've spent too much time thinking about what a 'feel good' a William's comeback would be, and not enough time assessing where he is right now. I just don't think he can get where he needs to be this season to really make an impact.

That's the WXTG in Virginia Beach, Va. feed. If you're listening to Sonny, Larry, and Sam, it's all the same feed :)

It almost looks like Chase is trying too hard even though he is not getting much help from the line or even receivers who are dropping balls.

Are we learning anything in this final pre-season game? Doesn't seem like many of our bubble guys are making a statement. From the radio call, I'm not sure anyone but Reed Doughty has really stood out....

Boone
09-03-09, 09:24 PM
And maybe Suisham? :)

I think he just secured his place with that 49-yarder.

Not exactly a bubble guy, but Jarmon is working it out there. Henson was making some noise also, before that bonehead penalty. And how about Tryon finally stepping in front of a WR and making a nice pick?

Bulldog's Twin
09-03-09, 09:31 PM
Suisham is still a question mark because the team failed to bring in a legitimate competitor.

Rayner hasn't played regularly in the NFL in 2 plus years.

Yeah - hard to understand that - if you're really not happy with the guy, seems like you'd bring in someone who could legitimately pressure hm.

Henson may need to get luggage out tonight

I haven't watched a lot of Skins games this preseason, but I haven't heard Cody Glenn's name ONCE, at all.

Now I feel bad about the luggage comment.

It's a beautiful thing ....

Not a lot of Mason tonight - that's either really good or really bad for him.

And yes, this is the greatest time of year! :)

I'll tell you what ... I wouldn't want to have to try and figure out what to do about the Redskins' QB situation.

Chase and Colt are both pretty darn good.

I'm going to say the biggest surprise of the weekend will be Daniels being named #3.

I'm going to say the biggest surprise of the weekend will be Daniels being named #3.

I am not so sure this will be a surprise after tonight. When Colt had to go out of the game due to injury, I think Chase took full advantage of the opportunity. I think the position is now his.

But, he did struggle in the 2nd quarter when better players were on the field so you never know.

I wouldn't be surprised ... but, I mean, they could try to sneak Daniel onto the practice squad.

I don't think he'd last there (I gotta believe another team would pick him up).

Boone
09-03-09, 10:36 PM
I think he'll (Daniels) get a pass on the 2nd quarter based on the quality of protection he got. Zorn reportedly gave him more playing time tonight for exactly that reason.

EatSleepRedskin
09-03-09, 10:37 PM
But, he did struggle in the 2nd quarter when better players were on the field so you never know.

He struggled because of protection, not because he just sucked. He had no time to throw.

Colt did well too. Both good quarterbacks.

Lanky Livingston
09-03-09, 10:38 PM
I'm not so sure about Chase over Colt...I think the more likely scenario is Colt winning the #3 job, and Chase going to the practice squad. I don't think Chase will be in high demand if cut, and will make it through waivers.

The more interesting battle (IMO) is for the 4th RB/6th WR spot...I think Zorn will carry either an extra RB or 6th WR. Shelton made some serious noise tonight, and at the very least earned a spot on the PS. Special teams, especially. I think with his TD catch, my main man Lanky locked up the 5th WR spot. Say goodbye to Hackett.
